Dace Sūna is a Latvian designer specializing in the interplay of space and light. Her background deeply inspires her creations in spatial design, a profound connection to nature, and a fascination with the elemental forces of GAS, FIRE, WATER, EARTH, and PLASMA. Dace recently completed her MA in Contextual Design at the Design Academy Eindhoven. Her graduation project, Cosmic Dancer, earned the Latvian Design Award in the Spatial Design category. She also holds a BFA in Interior Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, which she completed in 2015. Currently based in Latvia, she shares her expertise as a lecturer in interior design at the Latvian Academy of Arts. Over the years, Dace has mastered a wide range of materials and techniques. While in Los Angeles, she honed her skills in neon-making and experimented with plaster, wood, and clay. In the Netherlands, her conceptual SPACE & LIGHT installations seamlessly blended metal and glass, reflecting her unique artistic approach. For Dace, design is a journey that unites nature and science, resulting in timeless, light-infused environments that celebrate the magic of the universe.
